Are You Bored in Class?

Students learn better outside the class, and out of their desks. They probably love learning because it takes you somewhere new. Many of the lessons are explained to students outside, with the help of activities done outside the class or even outside the school. Visiting the dentist, the baker or any new place reflects better understanding to students. In grade six many activities are done first and mainly a bake sale that corresponds to an English lesson that talks about a baker and the process of baking. This year we had a fantastic bake sale and the students collected a large amount of money that they donated to Dar AL-Hanan.

The teacher told me that, atter this activity they were able to write and express better about baking and helped in better understanding of the class, that is in addition to using english language in communicating.

Second the students visit Markaba factory for electricity generating, and also we visited the court, and many governmental departments in Jeb-Janin

Students prepared reports about their visit, you can't imagine what great work they did and how much they gained from such experience.

  1. Sure Rouba! Students are more likely to pay attention and be excited about your course when they view the class as relevant to themselves and connected to their interests. When teachers Make Learning meaningful (field trips, visit a local construction site, visit a Museum...) and they actively engage students on task, your students will experience the smell of success.

  2. Students can learn better through experience. When they visit places, and learn outside they will be intrinsically motivated to learn. There kind of activities fill the gap among students by cooperative working then to collaborate together in the classroom. Many studies show that expose students to real life experience they will flourish...

  3. "When you share you will always remember." That is why practical activities are always remembered by students, they are more effective and serve the learning goal much better than when only reading about such activities as well as visiting places is much different than only reading about it.

  4. Very true and amazing! Of course students enjoy such learning experiences while connecting what seems boring in class to what is interesting to them. Practice always makes better and makes learning meaningful. "Doing it" is no doubt better than just "reading about it"...

  5. This is so great! I'm very happy to see that students are being taught new things through direct experiences. I also loved the pictures, thank you for sharing!
